


Douglas W. Marion, Vice President
Doug joined MRS in May, 1984. He is a licensed General Contractor as well as holding plumbing and mechanical contractor's licenses. Doug has extensive
experience in construction and has managed hundreds of retail projects for MRS. Doug's in-depth construction experience makes him uniquely qualified to manage
our construction staff efficiently and effectively. He is involved in each project from estimate to completion and serves as primary liaison with our clients. Doug
is also a licensed, instrument-rated commercial pilot, allowing MRS to be on any of its job sites within four hours. Doug has a BS degree from NC State University.
Samuel J. Hooker, Director of Marketing
Samuel joined MRS in February, 2009, after a successful 17 year career in Construction Project Management representing retailers and adds an in depth retailer’s perspective to MRS.
Samuel has worked for Bombay, The Limited Inc., and Talbots. Samuel began his retail career as a superintendent working for General Contractors that focused on
national tenant retail construction.
Michael L. Swaim, Jr., Project Manager
Mike, Jr. joined MRS in 2001, serving as a Superintendent and Project Manager for retail stores, both free-standing and up-fit. Mike, Jr. studied Business Administration at Guilford Technical Community College. Prior to joining MRS, he was a driver in the NASCAR Busch and Dash Series, the Craftsman Truck
and the ARCA Series. Mike, Jr. won the Busch Pole Award (1997), the Gatorade Front Runner Award (1997), and Dash Series Championship (1997).
Travis S. Swaim, Project Manager
Travis joined MRS in 2000, as a Project Manager and Estimator and for retail projects, both free-standing and up-fit. Travis has an Associate's Degree in Business Administration from Guilford Community College. Travis is a licensed General Contractor in North and South Carolina. Travis is also a driver in the NASCAR late model stock series and is the 2009 North Carolina State Champion in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series as well as the 2009 Caraway Speedway Track Champion a title he also won in 2005 & 2004.
Jeff Sledge, Project Manager
Jeff joined MRS in November, 2000 as an assistant in the estimating and construction department. In 2003 Jeff began working as a superintendent to gain field experience. In February,
2007, Jeff was promoted to Project Manager. Prior to joining MRS, Jeff was in furniture sales and interior design. He was also General Manager of Castle
McCullough, a local banquet & event facility. He was in charge of grounds and building construction there as well.
John Overocker, Estimator
John joined MRS in January, 1999. He has a Bachelor of Science in Building Construction from the University of Florida. John is responsible for estimating projects.
During college, John worked with several different contractors.
Robert Taylor, Estimator
Robert joined MRS in January, 2010. He has a Bachelor of Science in Building Construction from the University of Florida, where he graduated Cum Laude. Robert is responsible for estimating
projects. Prior to joining MRS, Robert served as a project manager and estimator with several other general contractors in Florida. He also has prior
experience in home construction while he was attending college.
Michael L. Swaim, President
Mike and Gene Armstrong founded MRS in 1977. Mike has extensive experience in retail construction. As President of MRS, Mike provides executive leadership
and is actively involved in MRS' construction and financial management as well as client relations. In addition, Mike owns and leases office and commercial space as
co-owner of Swaim-Marion, LLC. He managed MRS' construction of two shopping centers which he co-owns as Northeast Plaza Properties, LLC, and
Wallace Properties, LLC. Most recently, Mike expanded MRS operations into the single-family residential market. In addition to construction and real estate
endeavors, Mike managed three NASCAR National Championship Teams under his company, Falcon Racing, LLC. Falcon Racing has fielded teams in the NASCAR
Goody's Dash Series, Busch Grand National Series, Craftsman Truck Series and the ARCA series. His teams won National Championships in 1984, 1985 and 1997.
Mike has an Associate's Degree in Business Administration from Davidson County Community College.
